Do as you say to others.... treating myself as a new client
There is an old business saying that you need to eat your own dog food. Essentially this means you should practice what you preach, so for me, I am going to be fully writing up my Personal Training process and planning as if I was a new client.
So for me, this has involved reviewing all my personal training documents and taking myself through the process step by step...
So for me, this involves going through:
- Personal details, and also consenting that this data can be held by the PT company.
- Medical details and history, and also a consent form to sign that ensure the client accepts the advice and risk of taking part in physical activities.
- Goal setting
- Lifestyle Questionnaire - this includes a re-useable snapshot which you can repeat on a monthly basis, and provides an alternative set of information on the clients health and happiness
Following this initial consultation (with myself), I also have a couple of take aways..
- A medical release form for their doctor, to inform me of anything I need to be aware of. This is optional but recommended.
- First session guide - so the client is prepared and understands what will be happening
- Nutrition diary - If the client is signing up for nutrition planning and advice
So with all the paperwork ready, I need to have a consultation session with myself to fill everything in.
I'll be back with Part 2 in a couple of weeks to let you know how I'm getting on!
