Powerbar - Powergel Shots

Name: Powergel Shots by Powerbar

Web Site: https://www.powerbar.eu/en_GB/products/powergel-shots

Cost: Approx £1.50 per bag (Re-sealable 9 shot bag)

Description:
One of my staple exercise "Foods" over the last few years, these are my simple go to pre-exercise boost, and often have come with me on longer runs, rides and races as part of my fuel plan.

Each shot is a flying saucer / dome shaped jelly sweet. They are soft and squishy to touch and chew, but also don't lose shape or break apart, so they can be put loose in a bumbag or bike box and as long as they stay dry they will be fine.
They have a pleasant cola taste, with a little gel/liquid in the centre, and they aren't too sweet or sickly individually. They break up as you start to chew them, but don't stick to your teeth and will reduce down nicely just through sucking them as well.
I have found them useful towards the later stages of a race or event, where you can hold them in your mouth and they can help with generating saliva. For me they are gentle on the stomach as well, so as soon as one is finished, I can put another one in.

Nutrition value is fairly low per shot - (23 kcal, 5.3g Carbs), so if you are on a longer run or ride, you'll need to carry a fair few - which is why a mix of gels/bars and these can be a good combination.
